Churchill insurance sent me some marketing in the post today addressed to my name.
I’ve no idea when I managed to give them my details but I am normally very particular about the marketing options on forms or verbally. What worries me the most is the following wording:
“If you no longer wish to receive mailings from us, please unsubscribe by writing to the address on the back of the envelope. This instruction will apply to Churchill only unless otherwise stated by you that you wish to be removed from all of our legal entity brands, and will last for a minimum of 12 months.“
So any time after a year Churchill can happily opt me back in to marketing. This seems incredibly unfair. Also the address to write to, yearly – it seems, for removal isn’t freepost. I’ve got to pay to post my request to not be sent junk every year. Wow.
